Sultan Mosque has a history that dates back to 1824 and is considered one of the most significant mosques in Singapore. The mosque building was rebuilt in 1928 and has remained essentially unchanged since then. It was gazetted as a national monument in 1975. Modern upgrading exercises has now included acoustics as an important element of the mosque’s environment.
